This is my first post in any Photography forum. Looking for some general feed back. Thanks

I took this when I first got my DSLR Camera Back in December.

Took this about the same time frame.

In the second pic, maybe turning the camera horizontal and getting in more of the tree. I love the mood of it though, very eerie.

Those would be great photos to turn into black and white and play with the contrast. The top one does leave me feeling kinda bland, just lacking in content for my taste. The fallen tree would be better if you had its top in the shot I think. The second makes me want to see more of the scene. I agree with the above a vertical shot would bring more to the scene. Also the tree tops on the bottom left are a distraction.

I would agree if it was in a nature setting but that is on Main Street in a city so I would have gotten all the buildings behind, poles, cars etc. Lol
