first posted pics-- 2 still lifes

this was my first shot at still lifes...please give some constructive responses
p.s. sorry about the poor image quality (flatbed scanner)

I'm loving the first picture, but the cross like shadow on the top right part of the bucket kind of distracts me. Don't get me wrong I still think its a very good picture, its just what I think would have made a very good picture even better.

this weekend im gonna have another go at these...hopefully ill be able to get rid of that annoying shadow on top of the basket

In the first image - was the imperfection in the apple shown intentionally? I cant help but look at it

Yeh i agree, with still life i think everything has to be completely pristene with no imperfections.

yeah i noticed that to...its actually because the first time i posed that pic the basket was leaning on that part but the sticker was showing so i had to move it....i guess something pushed on the basket too hard
