Photos NOT OK to edit
first posting to the forum, i've always been into art and photography's always been an interest to me, so when i got a nikon d3000 for fathers day, i wanted to dive into it seriously. so here here's a few of some i took that i thought i'd put up and get some comments on. :)

1. 1/40, f/8, MF

2. 1/125, f/9, MF

3. 10x macro filter, 1/200, f/5.6, MF

err...why use MF? because only 1 of these has good focus

the shots i tend to gravitate to seem to only come out with the bokeh when i have it on manual. plus 1, 3, 4, i wanted a very narrow DOF.

Honestly, that has nothing to do with narrow DoF and bokeh. DoF is a function of aperture and focal length. Bokeh is a function of DoF, aperture, and the lens you're using. None of these really have great bokeh anyway, though that's a bit subjective. Nailing focus is critical and the only one that appears to have decent focus is #2.

I love 3. :) It seems kind of blurry, but it's really cool.
