This is my first self portrait so take it easy on me haha.

This is the look I was actually going for

You look scary with just your head showing.

How did you get it to look so porous?

I bumped up the sharpening a bit. It doesnt look so porous in the bigger version so I think some quality is lost when I resized it.

I don't mean to be critical, but it looks to me like it would have passed without the sharpening. Was it really necessary?

I appreciate the critic The sharpened image looks non porous on my crt monitor but then on my lcd widescreen it looks really porous. So I checked it with my laptop and its looks different yet again lol so I uploaded the original and hopefully that looks no porous let me know. thanks

BTW, that CRT vs LCD comparison is nice to hear. Maybe that's been my problem. I'll have to hook up my old CRT and check that out.
