Hey guys if some of you remember my thread about this model thinking i'm jesus. Turns out she was right. I am.
On a more serious note, here are some of my favorites from the day c&c is always appreciated, we agreed to have another go at it in a couple weeks so.

Thanks for viewing the rest of the set can be viewed @: MM model Ashley - a set on Flickr

I've not been married for a year, so it can't be that, but #4 I find myself looking at the reeds/grass more than the model.

I think next time take a step stool with you and shoot down for a shot like number three, the pose is nice I just want to see more of her face. I don't think black was a good choice of color for the dry grass. I think a nice pop of color would have been better. Poses are good, number 1 is ok but number 2 and number 4 the sun is overpowering her washing her out and creating hot spots on the face. How ever you achieved the lighting on 3, that should have been the lighting for the rest. Just my humble opinion Bram.

Good stuff.
I agree with Jace in the post above. The reeds are just a little too in focus and it draws attention away from the model, but not terribly much.
I am a little distracted by the highlights on her nose in number 2, but again it's not too distracting.

Good Work.

Thanks alot for the advice and feedback guys.
@Jace. I know what you mean i thought it wasn't too bad but if it's too distracting it'll be something to look out for next time.
@mwc. Thanks for your honest feedback. If you check out the rest of the set I do have a few from higher up we were looking for a different effect, and as for the lighting, yeah the sun was setting and it was brutal to work with.
@viva. Thanks for the feedback. As for the distractions I will see if something can be done about them. Thanks again.

Well, Jesus, I guess your dad didn't pass his omniscience on to you

3 is definitely the best one for two reasons. As mention above, it is the best light but, to me, it is also that in this shot she can't try to be sexy which ruins the other two bikeless shot. But I agree that being higher up would have helped the image.

As for the first one, the background sucks. Yes her glasses match the color of the stripe on the building but that is not enough to make it work. :) Details are important and the background is a major detail. Plus with photos of scooter trash, I want to see more skin and more bike so a sideways view and her in a bikini or less would have been an improvement

Remember, you can always do a little "gardening" to get the grass out of your way. And what's up with that pose in the last pic? It looks like she's double jointed or something! Also on #1 it looks like you got more of the bike in focus then your model.

I do like the concept you went with on #3. just a little too much grass. (and not the good kind!)

Thanks alot for the feedback c.cloudwalker. I know my dad wasn't the nicest haha.

He did give me the ability to grant wishses, ask and thy shall receive.

Thanks also Rockstar, she came up with the poses, she claims to be the "hot-shot" so I went with it. Yes the gardening idea is a good one. Next time it will be a different location so.

ehhh...

The posing is not so good, especially in the last two. The second view comes close, but still no cigar. I think you're trying TOO hard. It's most evident in the last one. You have her so contorted she appears to be disfigured. Three looks like a crime scene photo.

The lighting is hurting these just as much. Again, the second one comes close... you're on the right track here. The "quality" of light is not good here. It's too directional, causing hard shadows and a bit too much ratio.

Do some reading before your next go.

Have fun and good luck!

Yes, much better!

Unfortunately she's learned her sexy poses from the bad pages of MM :lmao:

You, as the photog, need to learn to direct the model. If you haven't done much work with models just research the style/type of work you're going after and show her what you want. Even bring printed material to the shoot if need be.

You mentioned contorted Pete, I stated above that she did the poses herself. I had no say in it due to her thinking shes "hot-stuff" but apparently you didn't read the above comments.
The lighting I had some trouble with yes, I just got my light in today, well my bracket, umbrella and trigger. So i'll be ready to practise with it today after work.
Thanks for the feedback.

Hah thought you might like that one C.cloudwalker. Yeah she kind of took control over me and was kind of overwhelming, and I indeed have not been doing this for along time so I have been trying to do more shoots and stuff and get more comfortable with all of it.

...apparently you didn't read the above comments.

I did get to read the others after I finished composing my post. It's a timing thing.

That's good. But too, do some more work on learning to "see light." You've found some good outdoor settings (I like them all), but need more work in recognizing good and bad lighting, and how to manipulate it. Sometimes all it takes is a big gobo. Fill flash is not always the answer.

Good luck!

Next time just knock her out, then pose. You can always PP her eyes open!
