First shot with Nikon D7000

My first shot with the NIkon D7000. Still learning ALL the settings and stuff. HUGE upgrade from the d3000

Yeah, tell me about it. Thats the same upgrade I made, and I don't regret it for a second.

As far as the pic is concerned, I would personally have cropped off the upper 1/8 of the shot to get rid of that gray/brown area. To me its distracting. That's just me, of course...... Other than that its a neat shot.

Nope. Not with the Body. The only issues I have had with softenss have been with the lens. With the three lenses I use frequently, 50mm 1.8, 135mm 2.8 and 180mm 2.8 if I do my job the pictures are razor sharp. with my lesser qulity lenses like the 35-70mm 3.5 and the 28mm 2.8 (Rokinon) the images can be a little onthe soft side.

That being said, there was a significant stretch of time when I thought there was an issue with softness with the D7000. Then I discovered a tripod, correct focus and correct shutter speed and that went away.

have you had any problems with softness?

Are you calling me fat?

Agree with the crop suggestion from Strad. Cool shot nonetheless.
