Practicing with the kid is probably the worst subject you can start, but negativity aside:
iso 200, 1/200sec, f/8,
Set the light on camera right and one camera left both at 90 degrees w/ respect to the camera. Adjust the power on them so numbers above are correct.
Go BACK to the camera store and get a grey card - meter your lights and preset the WB.
Once above are done - have a great time!
