First time out

Camera is used, and since I don't know anything other then point and shoot it was left in full auto.
These are photos of the old "Gun Smoke" movie set.......

Who knew that would still be around?!! If you could have tried moving in closer (or used a longer lens) that would bring the viewer in to see the subject better. The left one looks like the quality is a little better, doing some enlarging and cropping might make it even better. If this was the first time with the camera keep practicing and having fun with it.

I would agree with Sharon. I would add that some extra post processing of the sky and clouds would be nice too, maybe pulling out some of the shadows.

What software are you using to process your images? Or are you shooting jpeg?

As others have already said, a closer shot would have been nicer. I'm a beginner too but I'd say make it more obvious as to what your subject is. When I'm looking at your picture, the first thing that pops up in my head is: too much grass! But keep working on it!
