First time photo newibe/ first time poster :)

Hey,
I've just recently gotten into photography. I always wanted to get into it but I never had the time. Well, I decided to go out on a limb and purchase a cheapo Nikon Coolpix L100. It's not a bad little camera but I think I want to go ahead and move on to DSLR. I don't like being able to manually adjust every aspect of a shot. I'm saving up for a Nikon D60. I joined because this seems like a great resource to get tips, etc. Okay, I'm off to read up on DSLRs. Tell me what you think of my first shots below. I took them outside my house.
