Hi, i'm a newbie and i need
advise.

I was out with my DSLR and my spotting scope tonight and had the
camera attached to the scope with a T-Ring. I could see Jupiter thru my scope,
but when i attached my camera to it the screen was blank and the photos coming
out black.

I tried various settings... i couldn't adjust the aperture as
i didn't have my lens on the camera as the scope was on instead of it... i had
the shutter speed on 1/10 and 1/50 and i also tried 30"... and had the ISO
between 200-800 (i did also try 3200 at one point) but I failed to get a viewing
thru my camera to take a shot.

What am I doing wrong, please help.

What is the brand and focal length of the spotting scope? And what is it's speed?

A Celestron Ultima 80 spotting scope has a focal length of 430 mm and an objective lens (aperture opening) 80 mm wide, giving it a speed (f-stop) of f/5.375. (430 mm divided by 80 mm = 5.375)
Calculate the speed (f-stop) of your scope in the same way.

Telescope moved, the earth moving which would cause jupiter to be out of the field of view or you didn't have correct focus...

And how big in the frame was it? How bright did Jupiter look?

Again. What is the focal length of your spotting scope, and what is the size of the objective lens.

like i said, I could see it with my eye thru the scope.
Did you see jupiter and then put camera on because jupiter will move out of the field of view pretty fast and if the camera is way off with the focus you won't see anything...
