First time playing with strobes on location

I picked up a variable ND filter and wanted to go play, so the wife and I went out to the park. Nothing serious, just trying things out.

I know I shot very shallow (1.8) so I pretty much missed my focus on every photo. Not sure if it was me or if the filter had anything to do with it?

Also noticed that I generally under exposed the shots by 1 stop. Looked right on the camera but dark on the computer.

Anyway, Id love some general critique.

Thanks! 5 is my favorite. I like 4 but I think the pose could be much stronger

I think everything looks great, even the focus. Not sure what your seeing there. These look professionally done to these eyes. Soft color and lighting, clean and clear subject. Nice contrasting color and bokeh. Well done sir. The last one is fantastic, best one of the bunch for me.

If you look at the original file size, youll see its soft. Its close but still soft or maybe I am being over analytical

Nice set Soulful. #'s 2, 3 & 4 are my favorites in that order. My nitpicky stuff would be the limb overhead in #1 and the skin my be a little over softened for my liking but that is a personal preference.

These are really well done. My only critique is on image 1. She looks like she's wearing a log for a hat, and it doesn't look comfortable.
