I took pictures of cracks in the street and sidewalks, along with ice and snow and then edited them. I am not sure what I was "going" for. However, the ended up looking a bit like outer space to me and I enjoy that aspect of them. I like them, visually. I have fun taking the photos and turning them into something that is, to me, interesting. I am curious to find out if other people find them visually appealing.

You might want to get some more mid-tones.

I appreciate that dxq. I like the high contrast between the black and the white. I try to get rid of the mid-tones... I will work on not doing that and see what happens.

I personally like high contrast, but I think in these shots that some mid-tone would be better.

In the parlance of image editing the blacks are 'blocked', or pure black, and show no detail.
Some of the whites are 'blown out', or are pure white, and show no detail.

I agree that the mid-tone contrast could use a boost and also suggest that some fill light in the cracks would have made the photographs stronger.

When you post photos, it really helps the presentation of them if you don't put them right up against each other by separating them with some blank space.
When posting more that 2 photos, numbering them is also helpful

IMO, the diagonal lines in the first 2 have become the main image elements by dint of the fact that diagonal line convey a sense of motion. By genetic encoding, the human eye is attracted by motion.

I think it's fine that you just went off your gut reaction of "I like this and find it visually interesting." Some people are very methodical in their making process. Others are more intuitive. Some people are literal. Others are abstract.

I do find these visually interesting. The most interesting thing about them is the sectioning. To me, they would not work as well without it. And I agree, they look like vintage snapshots of the surface of a planet or something.
