Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hello everyone, I am very excited about getting into photography! I recently purchased a Canon 60D and am currently using the 18-135 kit lens. I have been reading up on different threads on this website and couldn't wait to post one with a few pictures of my own. So I took a few that I shot over the weekend and put them below. Please comment with any input that you may have :)

Have to agree with Bitter. #5 looks pretty cool.

The rest I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other...#1 definately has a cool wall, but -shrug- the photo itself doesn't do anything for me.

Agree, #5 is a winner! Love it.

#4 + #5 awesome.
#3 is a nice concept but maybe from a different angle.
Good work.

The tilt in 2 bothered me, and 5 made me go "ewwww" but I think good work so far!

Re-cycle bin #1 and #4.

#2 needs all of the scene to be in focus, like #3.

#3 you needed to straighten the bench to the floor tile lines, and take a short step to the left.

#6 he looks like Rocky Raccoon (very dark eye sockets, AKA raccoon eyes). Her eyes aren't quite as bad, but for people shots the eyes are very important.

#5 has some real potential. Do you have any image editing software, like GIMP, Photoshop, PSP?

Wow thanks for the input guys! Much appreciated! I am really new to using an SLR period. I still don't understand how to control things such as lighting (like in picture #6). I am going to do some shots with people next. How can I get dark areas like that to go away without washing out the entire picture or making the background very dark by using the flash? Also, I do not have any editing software as of now. I have used a version of photoshop (not sure which), but I need something so I can start processing these pictures :) Thanks again for the comments!

I vote putting a skull on the escalator if you get a chance...I think that would be pretty awesome :p

And you can try upping iso, EV balance, slowing down shutter speed.... There are alot of methods for lighting. If you do a 2 second google search you'll come up with hundreds of articles regarding it.

The first two are out of focus. What focus mode did you use?

Hope you don't mind but I had to play too! I love love love number 5 and thought the 'lomo' effect would look sweet. Here is my take on it

OOO I like that effect! What program did you use for that? If you don't mind me asking?

Also, I don't believe the first 2 are out of focus per-say ... I tried opening up my apature so that the focus area was smaller, rather than the entire shot. Just trying different things :)
