Opinions, that's all I can offer. You have super-saturated colors, a washed out sky and a huge halo all over everything.....normal for a first HDR me tinks. As far as good, no, not really although compositionally I do like it!

Actually this is how I intended it...... I was going for a more surreal look..... not just an ordinary picture of a train.

oh its surreal all right.

I hope to see your work again some time when your taste changes and your photo skills improve. Graininess, out of focus, colors not right, halos, just to mention a few of the things.

The grainy effect was achieved on purpose in processing. I should also mention that when I shot this.... it was almost dark, and the train was moving quickly.

Well at the end of the day, the only opinion that matters is your own. If you like it thats fine. But I think the general consensus here is it needs more work.

There are very few ferroequinology items that I don't like, but I have to say that the processing here is just too darn strong for my taste.

Beyond what anyone else has mention, the fact that the entire front of the train isn't in the frame absolutely kills it for me.

I don't mind the processing, and often go for an over-cooked look, myself. But not putting the entire front end into the frame is an insurmountable issue for me...

Just keep trying look thru the other posts to see what others have done ask questions and take others advice and try new ways to process shots , just have patience it will all come together if keep trying

I'm not a fan either...this is one of those HDR for the sake of HDR shots. What is the effect really adding here? For me, it just saccharine.

And other people's opinions do matter. Without them your just adrift on your own little island.

I'm never really a fan of HDR's made out of one photo either. It doesn't truly capture the dynamic range. Good start though and keep on trying.
