First Try at B&W

Thought I'd give B&W a more in depth try rather than just lowering the saturation, here's a few shots I've done so far just around the house.

i like the expression on the man's face, makes him an interesting subject
 
I especially like the 3rd picture, it is quite well captured, the kettle has an interesting texture, it is in focus while everything around it is not. It stands out.

As for the first, the whiteness of the hair and the blackness of the right foot distracts me, you could try to darken the highlights and lighten the shadows a little.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I had a mess around with shadows and highlights and ended up with this.
