Great job, I tried and it was a miserable failure. Mosquitoes had better luck than I did.

Not a bad first attempt at all! One thing that does tend to improve them however is having more 'scene'; that is, try to capture some of the background detail as well so the viewer can situate him/herself as opposed to just seeing the firework bloom on its own.
