i am fairly new to photographing and this is my first attempt at trying to make something dark.

its a good pic! yeah i think you took dark too literally but the composition itself is great--good geometry, nice triangles, I especially like the smaller dark triangle in the center-bottom contrasting the larger light one and the overall geometric constancy of the overall picture
