I imagine it is a hawk. Either way he put on quite a show while he ate his fish.

That is an Osprey. They are most certainly fun to watch. If you ever want to get some nice shots of them taking flight, wait for them to poop after eating. Often, after the 2nd or 3rd poopage, they are ready to take off.

Your shots are a bit underexposed, but still nice to capture one while eating.
