went fishing with a friend yesterday. the fish didn't cooperate but did get some kind of cool pictures

Well, this is some interesting equipment that you have got!
I think I like Photo 2 best out of these, but would still wish you had got all three tips and all three handles in the frame. A pity about that one cropped off tip.

Same applies to all: either the tips disappear in the shadows or ... well in all cases the handles are cropped off (or one at least). I regret this a little when I see these. The idea you had was really great and the colour of the sunset was very inviting - I really like the reflection of the sky on the surface of the lake!
