Just kidding, remember, only quitters give up. The more you play with photography, the better you will get at it. My recommendation is to learn the fundamentals first.
the 3 questions to ask, to build good composition are:
1. What is the specific subject that you are trying to capture?
2. How do I bring focus and attention to my subject, and how do I make other people get drawn into the subject?
3. Is there anything that distracts me from the subject, and how can I simplify the photo?

And also remember, sometimes, as an artist you see something that makes you feel emotion, or draws you into it and you want to capture it. Just because others don't see it, or only want photos that have commercial value, doesn't take away from your vision. Practice, practice and more practice will take you further than you can imagine.

Find something of intrest. Shoot it in an interesting way.

A great photo needs to speak to a person. You say you have medieval buildings around??

Head to one and take some snap shots all around. Find the most interesting view point of the castle. Then get to that point an hour before sunrise the next day with you gear and a tripod. Set up everything and wait for the magic to happen!!!

I too have not been shooting anything of interest for a while. im in a rut of not going out and finding the shots. The cold weather is hampering me aswell.

Its all good tho, spring is coming!!! Just hang in there!!
