Flash with a twist. PCPhoto Magazine Jan. 2008

I originally put this thread in the wrong place I think. I was reading and article in the January 2008 PCPhoto Magazine (by Bruce Dale). The title was "The Art Of Flash" on page 34 so I thought I'd try.

My girlfriend and I went out for dinner last night and I recalled the article so I tried with her point and shoot (Olypus Stylus 790 SW). Next I went to the car and got my Nikon. I was amazed at how easy this technique was and how well the cameras (both) kept focus on the subject.

I find there's a subtlety to dragging the shutter. The first photo would be great if it didn't have those two ugly bright spots streaking across the subject's forehead.

That one is awesome! Yea I could quite get the right speed on my twist. I was going for something along the lines of what Dale had but then again I was going after one of the greats I guess. ;-)
