I use flickr to host most of my photos I post here for the last year or so. I have always have used the bottom URL as the site link but just recently I was reading on the page where you find the link that u are supposed to use the long one when posting the photo and the short URL when you are just sending to a friend to view. The long URL does not display when added directly to the post- because they (TPF) does not allow HTML coding :(- nor by that "Insert Image" aid.
What I want to know is, is it okay to use the small one still? Or should I host my photos on another website like photobucket?

I use the small one all the time (most flickr users here have to), but I'll hyperlink the image back to its main page, so there is a trail back to the host. Don't think you can do much better than that - the rest of what's in the larger link is actually of little concern to flickr themselves and is of more value to users of a screenreader (alt & title tags)
