Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I have a few shots of flowers and a quilt that I would like some C&C on. Im using a minolta 35mm with a 35mm-105mm telephphoto lense with macro. All were taken with manual focus but auto settings. Any comments help! thanks for looking.
1.

#1 - I would have zoomed in more on the flower, I find the background too distracting and not able to see much of the flower..

#2 - Not sure what it is supposed to be, doesn't do anything for me....Sorry, just read that it is supposed to be a quilt, maybe would have worked if it was laying on a bed and shot from a corner angle...??

#3 - Not too bad, good detail....

Thanks.
1: would a crop fix this? I understand what you mean by the background being distracting.
2: Its a quilted wall hanging.

1. yes.

2. whatever it is, it is an odd photo with all the dead space on the left.

keep shooting.

There's too much empty space in the first one but I LOVE the colors in it. I also really like the DOF...that's what you need for the third one. Also it's (3rd pic) a strange crop b/c you can see all of the flower except for the bottom half of one petal.
I can see how you were playing with DOF in the second picture, but I feel like the photo has no (interesting) subject.

1. Out of focus.
2. No clue what to say.
3. Needs to be sharper and more vivid colors. Also the bottom pedal is cut off.

#2, try a vertical crop from halfway into the color of the quilt, ti nearly the edge of the dappled sunlight lines.

Also, good on you for shooting film.. that's cool. What film did you use?

1: How is it out of focus?
3:The image is as sharp as it can be. Im using film.. If your talking about how it gets fuzzy on the bottom right I think it is because of the focus. What camera settings would I change to make the colors more vivid?

Thanks. I used what I could find in town, nothing special. It's Fujifilm 400 speed.

Also I like the crop. I have yet to get around to editing these shots.

There are many different ways to make the colors stand out more with different camera setting or post processing.

I like #2 alot. Bitter's crop is also good. It's the only image I find interesting.
