Flowers in the daylight!

Generally speaking I find the composition to be too busy with distracting foregrounds and backgrounds.

I'm on my phone but the colors look great.

Have fun with the lens. I own one L and you can definitely tell the difference. Enjoy.

Thanks Sherm. I can see them being a little busy. 2 was my favorite but I took the others to check out the blurring of the foreground and background. There is a car show in town tomorrow, I will take it out there and see what I can get with it.

I am loving the L. I can already tell, I won't want to take it back on Tuesday.

#1 is by far the best, IMO. Would be better if the direct light was shining on the main flowers that you have in focus. It looks like just the tops are in the sun, the rest in the shade. The house or shed or whatever that is in the background of the first pic is distracting to me, so maybe more blurr would be better? I am being picky of course, overall I really like the first photo.

I certainly prefer the second over the first and third, as the flower is opposed to a darker background, a background that is all natural, too, not a man-made roof. Makes the flower stand out more. Maybe I'd have tried to crop out as much of the wall (?) at the bottom as possible, cropping in from the right at the same time in order to maintain the usual image ratio - but all in all I think 2 is the strongest.

Thanks Parker. I could try to add some in post to help that picture, but not sure if the lens had any more since it was an f/4.

LaFoto, thank you for the ideas. As stated, I like this one the best. I will look at cropping out the fence, but I really felt like it added something to the photo. (Contrast, maybe?).
