I haven't gotten to get out and shoot much this month, and haven't even gotten most of what I have shot processed, but thought I'd share a couple I just did.

The over-achieving Osprey:

1. When I first saw him, he came flying toward me with THIS stick:

(EDIT: Not quite sure what's up with those blurred wingtips. They were blurred somewhat, but not quite that much. I suspect a combination of things which I might, or might not, work on fixing)

He and his mate kept flying around the area, but managed to stay just past the tree line where I couldn't get good shots.

2. Finally, he swooped down toward the water, and grabbed THIS stick:

He made it quite a long ways with that thing, but in the end, he just couldn't hang on to it.

As always, C&C, general comments and witty repartee are welcome here.

Ok its showing off when you've got the point where you've got them trained to play fetch ;)

"I HAZ A STICK! I HAZ A STICK! I HAZ-- *drops stick* I don't haz a stick."

Nice capture Sharon but I got to ask what happen to the wing in # 1 with the blue streak on the wing tips. Maybe something with the sensor maybe some artifacts.

It's amazing how they carry branches 2,3 times there size and nest the size of a babies crib.

Ha, the scale is right out of whack with that stick !! They never cease to amaze me Sharon and I often wonder what goes on in that head of theirs. :) Amazing to see and would have to be the largest branch vs scale I've seen. Incredible and fine shots as well BTW.

All the best Sharon, great shots and maybe its building an Ark ;)

Danny.

Haha, yeah, I've got some extremely intelligent, well-trained Osprey around here. ;-)

brilliant photography! but not so clear of its behavior with that stick.what actually he want to do this stick?

I'm assuming he planned to build a REALLY BIG nest. Must be planning a big brood this year! :lmao:

BTW in #1 those bluish blurrs can be easily fixed in LR or PS. It's ruining a great shot!

Yeah, confession. Those blurs are the result of a couple of things, but mostly it's because I had to clone out power lines behind the Osprey. It was too late at night, it had been too long of a day, and I was really too tired to be doing post-processing work. I knew I was not taking enough time with cleaning up that wing but I just didn't care at the time. I should have just waited till today to even finish processing, but the way my days have gone lately, I knew I probably wouldn't get around to it. Still, that really sloppy job is starting to really bug the daylights out of me, so I'll have to work on it when I get a chance.

Maybe he was just fed up of you peeping on his wife, and came to beat you to death with that stick :biglaugh:

:lmao: THAT made me literally LOL! On the other hand, I think I'd rather he come at me with that stick than with his talons. :D
