Focus issues on Nikkor 35mm

I printed out a back focus test sheet (As I didn't have a large ruler). Tried at F1.8 and f2.8 with the same result focus hit on the 7cm mark the best. at f8 the focus was at the 9cm mark the best but at least the 0 mark was slightly better than at the 1.8 and 2.8. But was improved by the DOF.

In live view The results came back fine.

Place your camera on a tripod and hang a page from the new paper on the wall. Shoot a frame with flash at 1.8 using LIVE VIEW. Live view focuses directly off the sensor and will be in accurate focus (if possible). This will be your control shot. Then shoot a 2nd frame using the regular view through the view finder. This time the camera uses its' regular auto focus system (which the name at the moment escapes me). Compare the 2 at 1:1 and you will see if something has gone sideways with your focusing system and the 35mm. Do the same with some of your other lenses. If your other lenses do the same then it is your camera, if the other lenses focus ok then it is the lens. This should give you an idea of what is going on with things.
