focus!!!

hey, im shooting a large group of teachers this afternoon (in bright light). i use nikon d200. my question is what focus setting do i need to put the camera on? it seems like every time i use this camera on a group it is not all in focus. any help?!?!thanks

Have you tried manual focusing - that would put the control of the focus in your hands and should be more than enough speed for a group shot where nothing is running away . In addition keep a mind to your depth of field for the shot - you might need to use a smaller aperture to ensure that your depth of field is covering the whole of the group.
