Well... football is over for the year.

We made it though with only a broken thumb (my 15 year old son in high school) and the anguish of breaking somebody else's arm (my 10 year old son). The high's and the low's of the season have left both my boys with what my wife call's 'no-football-funk'.. It's the empty feeling they get the first week after the season is over.

But nobody cares how i feel!! I've got nothing left to do on my fridays and weekends!! I'm going to have to mow the lawn.. I'll have to start on the list of "honey-do's" that have been building over the past 4 months.. I'll have to start eating healthy foods (no more hot dogs, big pretzels and nachos).

My wife will help the boys get their gear cleaned up and ready to turn back in. She'll cheer them up the way that only a mom can.

Nobody is going to be trying to cheer me up as i put away the big lenses, fold up the rain covers and dust off my sensors!!

You'd think it was all about the kids!!! stupid football...

Lol! What lens do you shoot with?

Build a man cave :)

I kind of exaggerated the putting the 'big lenses away' part... I only have a Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 to shoot football with :) .

The man cave is a good idea... but I DO need to spend some time with my wife. She does tend to feel a little neglected in the fall.. and besides... High School basketball workouts start tonight. The games start in a few weeks :)

Oh ok.

Neglected? It's Fall, take photos of her in the leaves!!!

And here I am thanking the heavens above that football is over! Now it's on to winter sports and for me that is primarily wrestling because that is my son's first love. We'll wrestle from now till football starts!
Get involved in winter sports!

you don't shoot much basketball MLeek? I had a bit of a break this week, team and individual portraits for the next couple of weeks, then games almost every other night. At least with football it's mostly just thursday, friday and a little saturday.

I do about 2 or 3 games a week for each boys and girls basketball. I'd average about 4-depending on the wrestling schedule. I refuse to take anything that interferes with that. Problem is that I now have one on modified wrestling with the spare kid we have gotten custody of, so that's going to pinch. Basketball is nice because most wrestling is on Friday and Saturday-tournaments. It's easier for me to shoot more in the winter because its spread across the whole week where football was all hardcore Friday and Saturday. At some point in there I pick up some swimming and cheerleading stuff. I think the swimming is one major event.
