These are some of my newest shots. I'm disappointed with how most of them turned out. I just couldn't get the settings right on my new camera. Despite the noise and blurriness I would like some feedback on the actual timing and looks of the shots. Please and thank you. O and I tried to turn down the "instagram" effects, so they are a lot more natural looking. $01.webp$02.webp$03.webp$04.webp$05.webp$06.webp$07.webp$08.webp$09.webp

you need your shutter speed to be higher. Like around 1/500

I tried to put my shutter speed higher but when i was in shutter priority mode the pictures turned out way to dark. So i tried adjusting iso and the aperture but I still couldn't get the pictures light enough so i had to switch in aperture priority mode and then the shutter speed was to slow and i couldn't figure out how to fix it with out messing up the aperture again.

Gotta shoot manual, try f2.8 and 1/500th then adjust the ISO from there. What settings were you using? Im not a pro but just my opinion. Also anyone would rather have some noise as opposed to blurriness. Don't be afraid to shoot at 3200 ISO, your camera has that setting for a reason.

Your extremely heavy contrast is killing what is probably some good basic images. Is your monitor calibrated?

I wasn't set in one setting, i kept switching between a mode and s mode. I tried manual for a while but I just don't think I know enough about the camera to really play around in manual mode. I feel like the more I mess with it during a game the more shots I am losing and the longer it will take me to adjust it back to where it was before I messed with it.

I felt like I had to make the contrast a little heavier because I couldn't get the lighting right and the pictures seemed so dark, I will definitely try to tone down the contrast for some of my next shots.

For sports your most important thing is shutter speed. You must stop the action, so if you are having troubles use that number 1 need to determine what mode you shoot in.

Manual is much easier than you think in sports. For football I point my camera at the grass and meter it so that it reads zero. My first priority is that shutter speed so I set it at 1/500. I know with my 70-200 I WANT to be at f/4 if I can so I dial those two things in. Meter the grass. According to what the meter says I either raise or lower my ISO until it reads just at or maybe 1/3 stop below 0. If you are under the lights-they never change in brightness so you can stay right there. Done. exposure the same all night long. No problems.
