In a sort of nostalgic way to keep up with a previous profession, I subscribe to retractionwatch.com, a blog about retractions of scientific papers, and thought that this notice, which appeared among the top ten in 2013, would be of interest.

I subscribe to Retractionwatch.com and there was a post referring to Top-10-Retractions-of-2013/ which actually cited a Retractionwatch.com posting I missed - or repressed.

One of my sons is an active publishing doctor in clinical medicine so I watch for my own amusement and I also send him things that he might enjoy.

The Christmas issue of the Brittish Medical Journal (BMJ) usually has some fun articles in it mate. If you've never come accross it it can be quite entertaining.

Both my Mrs and my old man are docs so it can lead to some pretty weird discussions.

Just a couple of days ago, he asked me for a guitar and lessons. He really wants to play and start his own band, and like most kids, he has started working on his band's name. Lew, his mom is already upset with me. One of her younger ones now refers to herself as "Devil Child" instead of her given name, because, as she puts it "Papa says that name sounds cool...."

The way I see it, this is what grandpas are for. For some strange reason, my daughter thought I was only joking about one day having my revenge.
