We have a new visitor - a Northern Flicker - who appears to be building a nest not too far from Fort Cluckster.

So far we've only seen the male but, with some luck, he'll find his bride and there will be babies to photograph.

You are NOT kidding. There's a few that look like they were machine gunned.

The Flickers have a very "jungle" sounding call that sounds out of place in my yard.
