What lens was this taken with?

Just the cheapo 18-105 kit lens. When my wife first told me what it was, I didn't know which tree she meant, so I grabbed the Tamron 200-500mm. But this tree was so close that I couldn't get back far enough to get a decent shot with that lens, so I got the 18-105. Looks like it was shot a 98mm.

WOW It is a really lucky shot! I imagine you were moving pretty fast to make sure you captured it.

Yeah I was, but to be honest, after I came out with the 200-500mm, I think I scared it, cause when I came back, it was froze in the exact same position. "Playing opossum" I guess? I took 4 or 5 shots, and it never moved. I only stopped because it was about 20º and I was in my shorts and a t-shirt.

They are nasty creatures...but great shot! How the hell did you know it was in there?

There is a photo of me with a "nasty creature" poking its head out of my Navy Greens (that I'm wearing) displayed on a board from last Veterans Day. They are a lot of bark and no bite so to speak. They like to show their teeth but don't seem to know how to use them. They are rather ugly but not so nasty when they are young like this one. Nice photo.

Yeah, Ive seen them bare teeth and hiss and act psycho when a dog comes around!
