I've been thinking of how to shoot these for a while and finally got around to doing so. Critique is welcome.

For me, I think these lack contrast and show too much middle grey.

I don't think the pot adds to the photo in #1 & 4. I also think a much larger aperture may help by isolating the front pillar and hinting the second.

I dislike fences, so #3 is a no go for me. (personal perspective only)

I think there is a good photo in that spot for you. You just need to find it.
 
Thanks, kundalini, I took some of your advice and tried again. I think these came out a little more interesting. They were taken in the late afternoon, so there was different lighting to work with, not sure if I like it as it over/underexposed some spots.
