Fox Squirrel

A good colourful shot of this little guy, maybe crop the top to lose the blue ?

I'll take a look. I have a tendency to crop too much and not leave my subject room to breathe. I'm trying to be conscious of that, but maybe am overdoing it in the other direction.

It is a very good shot, but to make the whole image better I`d only crop the blue out.

Ok, well now I just feel stupid. I want back to the RAW image in Darktable and opened it. I had already done what you suggested, but I must not have been paying attention. I ended up exporting the photo two steps down in the history stack. The image you see above is that image, the one here is my original final crop.

Thanks for saying something. I'm laughing at myself for not noticing, I wonder how long it would've taken? :BangHead:

Don`t feel stupid as we learn in the art of taking/making photos, then we have to learn the art of editing.
Now the edit makes the image a very good one indeed.

Nice shot, no worries we all miss things or just simply over look things. This is just a small adjustment you made well done. Whats really funny is when we look through a viewfinder to line up the subject that we get so focused on getting the shot we some how miss a distracting object close to the subject that wasn't there when taking the pictures but some how is there afterwards in the picture. i think we call it tunnel vision.

I wasn't clear enough. The second photo was the original final edit, and the one I meant to export. For some reason I exported at the wrong edit step and never noticed it.

Not to worry, or worry when you charge up the battery and go out but forget to put it back in the camera...lol

That sounds like me!

I love that he's just chillin' on the post, makes it more interesting. Nice shot. :)

He was about 20' away and just stayed put, never even twitched. His friend in the tree was way more concerned and let me know.

Yard squirrels. Cute right now, but will be scaring them off once the garden goes in!
