Courtesy of the Strobist site, here's a free online virtual... well, you read the title.

VIRTUAL LIGHTING STUDIO!!!

Lots of fun to play with, the controls are fairly easy to work out and you can save the images too. To get an image like this with the diagram built in, you have to click the little boxes on the right with the apertures in them. This saves your set up. You can save several set ups, and then right click on one of the boxes and select the "Save image as" and you'll get the lighting set up and result together.

Here's one I did, along with the lighting diagram.

Lights 1 and 2 were snooted, light 3 was a small softbox, and light four was a ringflash used for a bit of on-axis fill.

Useful for playing with head and shoulders shot of hair less person portrait lighting, using only the rather unflattering 'football player', shoulders square to the camera pose.

All in all pretty limited, though all visual aids help to one degree or another.

Yeah, the pose of the model is pretty bad, but then, it's just meant as a guide anyway.
