So I feel kind of stupid for purchasing photoshop elements because one of my employees today took over my computer and installed CS5 for free... Does anyone even pay for it anymore? I stopped downloading music and files a long time ago I didn't realize it was still so simple.

I would fire that employee right away for stealing! Even if he/she didn't steal directly from you, you could be implicated.
