Freshly hatched cicada [gross bug warning]

I went out on my back porch tonight and I found this guy. First time I've ever seen one that's just come out of its shell. These things are freakin alien!

I poked him to see what he'd do and he flew away a bit..

a magnificent creature.

the pictures are great but teh flash is too harsh. maybe sing a slow sync flash would soften the light a little bit.

Unfortunately the only flash settings I have are 1/3, 2/3 or full power :\ This was at 1/3.
