Frida Kahlo inspired

After tearing my shoulder last week, I had a shoot scheduled for sunday 22-06-2014, sore or not I wasn't missing out, the shoot was loosely based around the works and life of Frida Kahlo, the model/hmua/frida fan had cancelled postponed 4x previously. This is the only shot from the shoot that I can share I hope you like it

Wow. That's quite an image - and I assume that you've done a lot of post-processing work to give it that painterly aspect. But the most impressive, for me, is how you've worked the light.

seeing other works by Chris, I'm sure the models were painted to look painted as well...

Chris I have to say that normally I really don't go for stuff with more of an artistic flare to it. I've just never really had as much appreciation for the more stylized, for whatever reason to me at least it always leaves me with the impression that it's too contrived, too forced.

But for whatever reason your work just doesn't come across that way. It just blows me away everytime. Another truly amazing image. Thank you for sharing it.

Thanks Sashbar you will be happy to know that the 'pregnant oil rig mermaid' loved the image and the albino tiger will pursue other tasty treats within other shots from the shoot

You work with what you get presented on the day of the shoot, whether it works exactly as planned, for me, isn't important as making the people who wanted the shots happy....they are very happy... job done

I had no doubt about it, binga. As I said your work is very impressive and I do not doubt the quality of the image. You know your worth and I am sure you have lots of ecstatically happy clients. I would not hesitate to become one of them. As for this particular image, it is just a matter of taste. To me personally it is a bit over the top.

Well, for her to really look like Frida, she'd need to add a touch more fascial hair... 'cause she got the brows right. As always, love your photography and light management. You've also inspired me to be looking for textures to be used for backgrounds - your use of these really contributes to the image flavour.
