I finally got out Friday night to use my D500 for high school football. I was using it with a Nikon 200-400 f4 lens. The AF worked great as expected. I was really pushing the iso up to see what I could get. The results were so-so

iso 20,000 f4 1/1250 sec

iso 11,400 f4 1/800sec

They look pretty fantastic to me.

Nice job Snowy.. The D500 is for real.. Funny not many people talking about it around these parts.. Best DX camera made to date as far as I'm concerned..

It's above many's budget. I want to add it to my arsenal but due to it's price I've been looking at a d7100 DX. I'd prefer the d500 with the d750/d600. I'm itching to have a DX again though don't want to go back to a d7000 like I had before.

Nice set of shots.

I have a d7100 and for what I shoot (sports and wildlife) it's awful. The main reason is the buffer is so slow and the iso performance is not that great.
