Nope, I just caught him at an unflattering moment... he smokes all the time.

Hrmmm... #1 doesn't do too much for me; the combination of the pose and strong highlights I think.
2. Much nicer, but the expression isn't quite right.
3. I really like this one, my only suggestion would be to lighten dark area behind his head just a little bit.
