Friends Kids - No emotional attachment

1 and 5 I think the sun is distracting them, making them squint. 5 is also soft or oof but overall they appear spontaneous and well done. Unfortunately I dont think theres any "over-the-top cuteness" but 2 is close. I hope I didnt jump down your throat.

I might have had some camera shake in 5. Thanks for your reply vtf!

It's okay. Like I said no offense cause they're not my kids. I was trying not to be photo-stupid! ;)

Just gonna upload the rest to my Flickr. :D

I never heard, how did the brides like your final wedding pictures?

Older bride loved them and her husband cried. Younger bride loves them, but has yet ot order her prints.... she's got some financial issues thanks to her new groom. Oops!

Good job, I saw them on your Flicker, some tough lighting but I think you did well and great that they loved them.

Thanks. The lighting was awful! Gah! But I learned a LOT!

#1-The girl on the left looks kind of soft. #3 & #4 could have used a little bit of fill light. Otherwise, this set is great. :) You're definitely improving!

I wonder if Geaux checked these out?

You out there Geaux? You were askin about recent stuff...

I'd love to get some more input, guys. :)

Enjoy and constructive criticism is super welcome!

1 - I do not like the table top slicing through both subjects. Set them on top. The older girls pose is very good, but the little girls is very akward. Suggestion: With both on tabletop have the older girl in same pose and slide younger camera right to where she is in between olders knee and chest. This will fill in the gap and lessen the disconnect. See if you can remove the chain-link fence in the background.

2 - Harsh uneven lighting. Suggestion: 1) Have them both in open shade. 2) Place a diffuser panel between the sun and the subjects.

3 - Underexposed on the shady side of the tree. Suggestion: Aim a reflector to add light to the subject.

4 - Harsh lighting on sunny side of the tree. Suggestion: Add fill flash to remove raccoon eyes.

5 - Missed focus and lacking viewer connection of the little girl and harsh lighting making them squint. Suggestion: Be patient, have both of their attention. Find another location / time of day.

6 - Decent pose of the older girl. Suggestion: Loose the tree. Have older girl to raise her chin and lessen the tilt of her head 15-20°. Have the little girl kneel to lessen the disconnect distance between the subjects eyes.

Overall, not as bad as my comments may indicate.

My income tax $ is going to buy me a reflector and hopefully a hotshoe flash at least!

And thank you for your C&C Kundalini! You've given me a lot of great insight!

reflector is super cheap.. go to amazon.com. I think i got one for like $25 and I was amazed with the quality. Expecting cheaper quality.
