From a maternity session

Is it just me, or is there some odd processing halo where the back of the guy's sweater passes over the vertical column on the left side of the frame?

Highlights on her blouse are blown out, but that could just be small image size/bad JPEG compression. Check the original if you haven't already.

Without her navel in view, the tummy is sort of disoriented bare skin, and quite a lot of it.

This does not strike me as very flattering to her, but maybe it's the best that can be done. She looks pretty enormous here, but maybe she just plain is, and maybe even that's what she wants the pictures to show. The fact that her slacks(?) are coming out flat black isn't helping here, I think, but again that could just be small file/bad JPEGishness.

The flyaway hair is not so good. Her hair looks a little to "done" for this to be a "natural breezy" look, so it just looks like an error.

Her expression isn't all that. Isn't she supposed to look more radiantly joyful? He's pretty good. Perhaps later in the session, after she loosened up, she might have looked less threatened by the camera.

The good parts: She looks quite lovely. Good makeup and styling. The necklace might have been draped a little better, but is basically a good idea. The colors look good. Focus and framing are good. Given that the blacks and whites are equally blocked up, I'd say exposure was in the ballpark. Light's not bad (was this shot overcast, and then warmed up in post?).

I agree pretty much with what Andrew said above.... except would add that Saturation is bumped a little high... look at the guys lips...Pink? And he has Rosy Cheeks...

She is 9 months pregnant so her belly was SOOO big, really the biggest I've ever shot, but really radiant and gorgeous in my opinion! He looked like he just stepped out of the tanning bed, I was actually going to ask him, because he was really rosy on his lips and cheeks, but overall really tan. It was overcast and drizzling. She had her belly exposed in all of the shots, 2 outfits, neither of which covered her, so we worked with it. This is her fourth baby so belly button exposed wasn't always the best option either just probably due to being so far along.

Do I need to get my eyes checked? Or is there some purple fring/ purple ghosting? Most notably around her chin, her shirt where it is touching his, and his cuff.

Plus, as some one mentioned, you should De-saturated his lips.

Other than what amolitor said, I just think it's an uninteresting photo. It just looks like a snapshot to me with no real direction in composition.

fWIW She LOVED the photo of her (and him) and called it breathtaking! And typically we're our own worst critics right? And she is much larger then him and very confident, nothing wrong with that. Typically i do maternity sessions around 7 months. She was 9, there was no not showcasing the belly! I agree there is a bit of a wb issue which I've fixed since posting this. Thanks for your thoughts!

A little research goes a long way.... Looks like she has had a camera for a little over a year....

Most "clients" don't have a clue about decent photography! Neither does facebook... that is why facebook is so popular with a "certain" type of photographer.... I noticed you opened your facebook business late 2012 or so. You have been shooting just over a year.. now I understand why your photos are the way they are...
