I think this is a great lens ... the swirly effect I think really comes into play when you have a lot of "breakup" in the back ground like tight, meshy tree branches with wider apertures. The aperture inserts tend to slip out easily so you might want to make a *slight* (and I mean barely perceptible) bend in the tabs with a pair of needle-nose pliers.

I, for one, am glad I bought this lens.

I like the first one best. Sparse but intimate. I'd like to see a little more of the bottom of the bottle of mouth wash.
