Frozen lake with a bonus!

I took this with my simple P&S and ended up liking it a lot. If anyone wants to cut out the noise from the sky and clouds and then tell me how they did it without softening up the whole image, go ahead please!

Otherwise, I want some critique on the whole thing!

Wow, that did turn out nice. I don't think the noise in the clouds is an issue. I can barely see it. The only thing I'm not sure I like is that roller coaster-looking thing above the trees on the opposite shore. Then again, this photo could prove to show the opposition of man and nature... Who knows? Nice job, anyway. :thumbsup:

The sky looks dreamy while the frozen lake look just flat. I'd crop some of the lake.

Nice shot - agree that the noise isn't really a problem here. Also think I would try a crop, just below the largest set of reeds on the left-hand side

I completely agree with the crop - I dont know why I didn't see it myself.

I think it's a 10fold improvement!

Yes, the crop works! You cropped it right where I would have cropped it, too.
And I take it you see the fun fair in the background as the "bonus"?
That twisted roller coaster is the topic of your photo (well, second topic)?
I am not quite so sure that that aspect of your photo works that well, though... it is so far away and so small ... you could argue it is more of a distraction than a bonus :scratch: ... must think about it some more...
