Tokina price is, as shown on Nikoncafe, is $330.

According to this extensive thread about this lens (Re: Will Tokina 12-24 AT-X 124 PRO DX auto focus on a D90 ? (Not the II): Nikon SLR Lens Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review) it will focus fine on D90.

If you are interested, I will pack this up and check for cost to ship to UK.
