Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
We got this camera as a christmas present and I have a couple of questions.

First off....it has an adapter so that you can attach a lens. What kind of quality am I going to get if I do this? Having a point and shoot with a decent lens can I expect something close to to the quality I could get with an SLR and a lens?

Also.....if I were to put the adapter would it improve the quality of the photos? I know that might sound stupid but my thinking is that having that adapter, which looks like a small lens, would cut down on some of the light right off the camera.

As far as I know, the adapter is put on so that you can put threaded filters onto the existing lens. I don't think you are replacing the existing lens, so the image quality will probably never get any better. (aside from filter effects...polarizer etc.)

Generally, anytime you add something, you are degrading image quality.

You will probably not get close to the quality of a DSLR, mainly because of the size of the sensor.
