OK. Here's what I thought when I looked at this shot:

1. Like the idea. I'm a fan of non existent DOF
2. Too little DOF. At least get the eyes in focus.
3. Oh, it's a home made lens. Then I guess it OK the it's out of focus.
4. If I didn't know it was a home made lens, would I cut him slack about the flaws in the photo?
5. No.
6. Then why is he telling me how he shot it?
7. Because he looking for extra credit or making excuses because the photo can't stand on it own without explanation.

I mostly like this shot, but you telling me how you did it makes me dislike it more than I should because I feel like you are already apologizing for it.
Just post your photos without the detail and see if they can pass muster on they're own.

Since you're so concerned with time ...

Why spend the time posting a photo for critique if you are not going to let the photo be judged on it's own merits.
That's all I'm saying.

I like the shot in general, but the stick in the mouth of the dog is distracting and makes it less effective.

Well posting technical info is fairly standard in my book.
Odd that you diden't comment on this on other pictures that you have seen and commented on from me.
Also quite odd that many photo sited that are for posting critique etc makes you add technical info when you upload a picture.

Constructive critique are the best ones and that mainly why I post here becouse people are in general more honest here and don't just gives a thumbs up for something thay like.
