TV show, the second season premiere was last night.

I thought it was ok. They cramed a lot of story into an hour.

I can't wait to get going with this season, this first episode was more of a "catch up, and explain things" episode IMO.

With Spartacus & Walking Dead over, GoT is going to be huge.

I'd have liked it if they had followed the book a bit more. But overall I still like it.

Its the first time I saw it last night. I watched the re-cap and think it's pretty cool. I must say I thought the special effects on the little dragon were quite good.

I'm tempted to pick up the books, but looking at the book store I see different versions. One set is Titled "The Game of Thrones" and has sub-titles for the books, and the other is "A Game of Fire & Ice"...

Which is the right set? I don't want a book FROM the show, I want the books that the show is BASED on. Thanks

The series (books) is A Song of Ice & Fire.. Game of Thrones is just the first one. The typical set that you will see in a book store, is the first 4 books. The fifth book is out now, not sure if it's in paper back yet. I thing there are supposed to be two more book to be published.

I'm about half way through the 5th book now.

Mike, I'm right w/ you!! I'm about halfway through book 5!!! I'm hoping to finish it soon!! Unfortunately, book six won't come out for another couple of years....lol I'm just hoping George R. R. Martin. stays alive long enough to finish the series!!

As to the series, I'd wish the TV dudes were able to name the series "A Song of Ice and Fire", as that's what the series is called.

Sure, "Game of Thrones" is a very nice way to describe the whole series

but the author didn't name the whole series "Game of Thrones". Anyway, just something I'm annoyed by. And the TV dudes have been selling the series as "Game of Thrones", so changing it now would only confused people. Still, the series is pretty good. Only,

some of the persons don't look the way I want them!!!! LOL

I don't have HBO anymore (ditched cable/satellite altogether) so I guess I'm waiting until next year until I can watch this season. I'll have to check out a review to see how well it follows the book.

The scene with Theon and his sister is one of my favorites from the books. I crack up every time. I trust they did it justice on the show?
