Here's the shot of my blooming Major Wheeler honeysuckle from a couple days ago:

One little bloom so far, but it's only been in the ground about 3 weeks, so yay! Today's rain should really make him happy.

Here are some of the things I let come up that were planted by the former homeowners. I wanted to get a good look at them.

Daylillies and various hostas:

The shrub on the left is a "Blue Prince" ilex: the male version of Blue Princess ilexes that we planted on the other side of the yard. The pollinators should help us out now for winter berries.

Another recent planting is this little Clematis:

Don't know if we'll see any blooms this season. I wanted something for this side of the porch that's in shade most of the day.

Nice @terri

Your major wheeler looks better than mine which seems to be struggling. I’m going to add some compost - the soil could be the issue.

The bunnies have decimated my clematis plants. The older established ones are thriving but the bunnies ate 4 of the 6 new ones that I planted last fall and this spring.

Dang. We have bunnies all over the place. The little guy might be in danger!

I'd like to think the proximity to the front door could keep them away, but I doubt it. 😕

Yes, I've been happy with the Major Wheeler so far. It's along the back fence property line. We ripped out a bunch of dead stuff, dragged away debris, etc. when we first got here. It gets fantastic sun all day and we used soil amendments and mulch when we planted it. I've been unsure about the area, but so far so good.

I’m off work today using up some vacation time for a long weekend. Princess is home and also not working today. We’re going to be building a bunny fence out of stakes and chicken wire for the side garden. Harlie almost caught the little bugger today. She had it cornered behind the bee balm. I had to pull her away so it could get away.

The honeysuckle smells fantastic and is in full bloom. It had t grown much compared to last year but we haven’t really had any heat yet.

There are a few bunnies around, but we now have groundhogs: momma and two younguns.

My plant app says Rose Rugosa. We call them Beach roses here.

My Clematis has a flower! It's barely been in the ground a week. I must have missed the tiny bud when planting.
