With the hot weather we had this week, I opened up some of my winter sowing containers. Dwarf snapdragons and Shasta daises have the best results so far. I have some sprouts in the liatris and false indigo containers as well but not like these! I guess I’ll be giving away daisy plants to all my friends next month! The snapdragons are going in front of the fence to keep some color after the tulips die off.

Thanks, this was a sample to see if they were ready. Clearly they are. lol

Now I have to pull and figure out what to do with a 25 foot row of them. :uncomfortableness: Carrots anyone?lol.

That's a lot of carrots! Let's see: roasted, grilled, in the soup pot, in a stew, and I'm sure they are terrific just to snack on. I'm not a juicer but they'd likely be good for that, too.

But yeah...that's a lot of carrots!

It's been a good spring so far. So far all my spring flowers are blooming and my Flowering Dogwood has blossoms for the 40th year. The Paw Paws are budding out and the Redbud is almost at full flower. as is Spicebush and Winterberry. The Virginia Bluebells and Bleeding hearts are blooming; as are the Toadshade Trilliums. the Monarda and Agastache leaves are emerging.

The Sweet Woodruff, Blue, Green Cohosh have leaves; still waiting on Wild Ginger. It was a damp, relatively warm winter here in North Central Pennsylvania and the water tables are up to normal. Should be an interesting year.

Wow that’s old for a dogwood no? I miss ours. It was also white. It was knocked down by a huge branch that fell from my neighbors oak tree during a microburst. I keep saying we need to get a new one. Maybe this year will be the year!

Leaving the house today, I found Bill the Texas Spiny Lizard, sunning himself on the steps. He turned his head and I imagine he was considering whether to give up his prime spot or to ignore me. He chose the latter, and moved away only after I had passed him. We see a lot of each other in the garden, and I think he's getting used to me being there.
